The staff at the Veterinary Alternative is very friendly and welcoming!
Delphine Leaderstorf: Office Manager
Delphine is a retired R.N. and has been with Dr. Koenig’s practice for over 15 years. During that time, she has seen the practice grow into two locations offering many more treatments. While she focuses mainly on behind the scenes functions now, you will see Del in the office with her dogs, Otto and Porter, for regular treatments. Del and her husband, Mark, spend as much time as possible enjoying their children and many grandchildren!
Kelly: Vet Assistant
Kelly has a BA in Psychology, with a concentration in Business Studies and has completed coursework in Comparative Animal Behavior from Canisius College. After 12 years of owning The Animal Kingdom, in Orchard Park, she sold the business in 2012 and joined Dr. Koenig’s team in early 2013 and is thrilled to be assisting her favorite holistic vet who has been treating her pets for over 15 years! When she’s not working, she likes walking, biking, gardening, and sailing. Kelly’s favorite “pet projects” involve working on feral cat TNVR to reduce cat overpopulation and high euthanasia numbers of innocent cats. Currently, Kelly lives in West Seneca with her husband, their beloved Coonhound, Gus, and five cats (Toby, Fuzz, Smudge, Maggie & Sophie).
Kathy: Vet Assistant
Kathy is the newest member of our team having joined the practice in January 2015. Her experience with a variety of critters spans 15 years with having owned a pet sitting business where friends and family have put their precious pets in her care because they trusted her abilities and knew she would treat their pets as her own. Currently pet mom to two adopted felines, Barney and Butterscotch, there hasn't been a time in Kathy's life when pets weren't a part of it.
Sue, Vet Assistant
Sue became a client at TVA in 2010 and joined the practice in 2013. She has 22 years experience as the owner of her pet sitting business, and 15 years experience as a veterinary assistant. She spends her free time caring for a large furry family of 5 dogs, 6 cats and a Pygmy goat (yes, he lives in the house too!). Her special areas of interest include nutrition, homeopathy, essential oils, crystals, and light therapies - as they apply to the improving animal health and well-being of course!
